What I do
I provide therapy, coaching, and training—whether as an individual, a company, or an organization. As a clinical psychologist with broad experience, I work with a wide range of issues and am skilled in various treatment methods. This allows me to create a personalized and effective process tailored to your needs.
Below is a selection of my services:
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
EMDR helps you process traumatic experiences by changing the way memories are stored in your brain. This enables you to experience your behaviour and emotions differently in the here and now differently. More information: www.emdr.com
Schema therapy
Body-Oriented Psychotherapy
Sessions can take place in the studio or boxing ring and are often combined with EMDR or other forms of psychotherapy.
Self-Worth (Vat van Zelfwaardering)
Self-worth is the key to a healthy and fulfilling life. It strengthens your ability to set boundaries, be empathetic, and steer your life in the desired direction. You no longer feel overwhelmed by painful experiences. You can see them, experience them, and respond in a healthy way. During treatment, I focus on strengthening your self-worth so you can deal with whatever comes your way. More info: www.vatvanzelfwaardering.nl
Other Forms of Psychotherapy
In psychotherapy, we explore what lies beneath your issues. It offers you the space to gain insight and work through these underlying patterns. In addition to the methods mentioned above, there are many other forms of psychotherapy. Each approach focuses on a different aspect of your situation, but the goal remains the same: to help you overcome obstacles and lead a healthier, more fulfilling life.
Psychotherapy is for anyone who is willing to better understand themselves, take meaningful steps, and experience real change with the support of a professional therapist. It’s an investment in yourself and your future.
Coaching
Coaching helps you achieve your goals, overcome obstacles, and accelerate your personal or professional growth. Instead of offering advice, coaching provides guidance to find your own answers, which increases your self-confidence and focus. In general, the difference between coaching and therapy is that coaching focuses on the here-and-now and is less concerned with dealing with exploring deeper issues and long-standing patterns.
Tailor-made
Sometimes you’re not looking for a set program. You don’t necessarily need a fixed plan, but rather a ‘point on the horizon’ you’re aiming for. You need a professional who can think creatively with you and add elements to your journey as needed. True tailor-made solutions!
What I Don’t Do
Unfortunately, I can’t always help everyone. If you are unable to express yourself well in Dutch, English, or Afrikaans, I won’t be able to help you effectively. Sometimes, other help is required, such as in cases of severe suicidality, severe substance addiction, if you are prone to experience emotional crises, or acute psychiatric issues like psychotic or bipolar disorders. In these cases, it’s best to contact your GP who can refer you to organizations that can provide more intensive help. I do not offer crisis services, nor am I available every day of the week. In an emergency or crisis situation, please contact your GP or the out-of-hours medical service.
“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there.”
